It's been over a year since I last posted here. The whole bike thing never really worked out. I do have the plans, the equipment and most of the materials, but I just don't seemt to have the skill. I need a LOT more practice before I even consider trying my hand on using my welder on the cromo tubing.
What I have done is order a brand spanking new bike for me to use. It's a Surly Cross Check. I picked that one for several reasons. One, I'm a big boy (now at 250 lbs down from 285 back in January). Two, it seemed to be the bike to get according to the folks at Bike Forums. Specifically in the Clydesdale and the Commuting sections.
I'll be posting pics up as soon as I have in under my feet. I juset need to decide what type of pedals to get on it. I think I've already decided on the Crank Bros. Mallet pedals. They'll allow me to use the bike as normal without having to clip in. I've never used clips, but I've always wanted to try. This'll be my chance.
More soon . . .
